Learn how to create a new OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes cluster.
OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes service provides you with Kubernetes clusters without the hassle of installing or operating them.
Requirements
- Access to OVHcloud Control Panel
- An OVHcloud Public Cloud project
Instructions
Creating your cluster
From the OVHcloud Control Panel, navigate to the Managed Kubernetes Service
section via the Public Cloud
menu.
Click Create a cluster
(or + Create a cluster
if you have an existing cluster).
Ordering your cluster
Choose a name for your cluster and click
Next
.
Select a location for your new cluster and click
Next
.
Choose the minor version of Kubernetes and preferred
security policy,
and click Next
.
We recommend that you use the last stable version. Please read our End of life / end of support article to understand our version policy.
You can choose to integrate your Kubernetes cluster into a private
network using
OVHcloud vRack. Click Next
once you
have chosen the
network for your cluster.
For more information about this option, please read our Using the vRack guide.
You have the option to configure the default node pool. A node pool is a group of nodes sharing the same configuration, allowing you flexibility in your cluster management.
You can read the Managing node pools guide to get more information on node pools.
First, choose a name for your node pool.
Next, you must Select a model for your node pool.
After that, define the size of the default node pool. You can also enable Autoscaling and/or Anti-affinity.
Enabling anti-affinity will launch current and future nodes on different hypervisors (physical servers), guaranteeing higher fault tolerance. Anti-affinity node pools can only include up to five nodes.
Once you are finished customizing your node pool, click
Add node pool
and then
Next
.
Review your selections and click Next
to process
your order.
WARNING: Once you have submitted your order, you will not be able to modify the Location or the Private Network.
Managing your cluster
Once your cluster has been delivered, you can manage your cluster by clicking the cluster's name
or by clicking the more options ...
button and selecting Manage cluster
.
The following screen will provide you with information about your cluster, network, and access and security settings. The Management panel allows you to rename, reset, or delete your cluster, among other things.
