OVHcloud Dedicated Servers offer our customers an environment with resources entirely dedicated to their use. More affordable for an individual than our Hosted Private Cloud offerings, these servers are ideal for hosting websites, email, and many other potential options. The following article is a walk-through of the Dedicated Server layout via the OVHcloud Control Panel.

Server status | Network interfaces | Secondary DNS | Interventions | IPMI | Tasks
Server status
When you first select a Dedicated Server, the first tab to which you will be taken is the Server status tab. There is a lot that we can do on this page, so we will take it one piece at a time. At the top of the page, there are three boxes - General information, Hardware, and Service status.
The "General information" box is where you will find the server's hostname and product type. Additionally, you will be able to install an OS on and change the boot mode of your server. To learn more about what you can do from this box, please check out the following articles:
- How to Install an OS on a Dedicated Server
- How to Use Rescue Mode
- How to Boot Your Server in Network Mode
The "Hardware" box will give you your server's hardware information. We use an INFRA-1 server in our example. Hardware will vary depending on your server and any upgrades you selected.
The "Service status" box is where you will find the status of your server, whether monitoring is enabled or disabled, which services are monitored, and helpful links to view the status of the OVH network at large. The ellipses (...) button to the right of "Status" allows you to reboot your server or cancel the service.
For more information about OVHcloud Monitoring, please check out our Overview of OVHcloud Monitoring article.
If you scroll down on the page, you will be brought to the "Network" box.
Here you will find IPv4 and IPv6 address assigned to the server. You can also navigate to the "IP" section of the OVHcloud Manager, and set up reverse DNS. For more information about reverse DNS, please check out our How to Configure Reverse DNS article.
The "Subscription" box is where you will find the renewal date so you will always know when to expect your bill. You can also manage your commitments here. Additionally, it will tell you the date you created the service. For more information about billing, please check out our Overview of Billing with OVHcloud article.
Network interfaces
From this tab, you can manage OVHcloud Link Aggregation.

Secondary DNS
A Dedicated Server with OVHcloud allows you to leverage our infrastructure to host secondary DNS. Here is where you are able to add the domain.
For more information about secondary DNS, please check out our How to Configure Secondary DNS article.
Interventions
Here you view a history of the work (i.e., an intervention) that a data center technician has performed on your server. The type of work and when it was carried out will be listed.
Now, let's take a look at the next tab.
IPMI
Here you are able to download a Java applet, which allows you to access your server via a remote KVM session.
For more information about IPMI, please check out our Getting Started with IPMI article.
Tasks
Finally, we arrive at the Tasks tab.
This tab will track various tasks performed on your server such as hard reboots, changing the boot mode, etc. It is a high-level log to help you administer your server.
Conclusion
OVHcloud Dedicated Servers are easy to manage from within the OVHcloud Manager. For more information about using this product, please check out our Bare Metal Servers page.
