Learn about the management options available in the OVHcloud Control Panel for your Managed VMware infrastructure.
The OVHcloud Hosted Private Cloud Control Panel enables you to easily manage your Hosted Private Cloud infrastructure.

Accessing your infrastructure
Log in to the OVHcloud Control Panel, choose the Hosted Private Cloud section, and click the Managed VMware vSphere menu.
Exploring the PCC dashboard
Choose your PCC from the list, and a dashboard will load with the following tabs:
- General information
- Datacenters
- Users
- Security
- Operations
- Windows license
Each of these areas and the actions that can be completed within them are explored in the menu below.
No matter which tab you are on, you can click the pencil icon at the top of the page to change the name of your infrastructure.
This area provides basic information about your infrastructure, including commercial range, location, regions, and number of datacenters.
The actions you can perform here are listed below. Expand each menu to see further instructions.
Change the description for your infrastructure.
In the General information panel, select the more options ... button next to Description and choose Edit.
In the pop-up window, add your description and click Edit.
Update your software solution.
In the General information panel, select the more options ... button next to Software solution and choose Install <update details>.
In the pop-up window, review the change and click Schedule the update.
Order or migrate IP blocks.
In the General information panel, select the more options ... button next to Number of IP blocks and choose Order IP blocks.
You will be redirected to the IP section of the OVHcloud Control Panel.
If you choose Link IP blocks to another service, a pop-up window will appear where you can migrate an existing block to a different service.
Enable or delete Zerto.
In the Options panel, select the more options ... button next to Zerto and choose Enable.
If Zerto is already enabled, the more options ... button will show Delete.
Order a license.
In the Service management panel, select the more options ... button next to Renewal due on and choose Order a license.
You will be redirected to the Licenses section of the OVHcloud Control Panel to complete this process.
Cancel your service.
In the Service management panel, select the Cancel the service button.
In the pop-up window, select your preference (cancel immediately or cancel at expiry) and click Confirm.
In the Datacenters tab, you can add a datacenter, order a host, order a datastore, or see more details about your datacenters.
Add a datacenter.
Click the Add a datacenter button.
On the next screen, select your vDC and host types and click Add a datacentre.
Order a host.
Click the more options ... button to the right of your datacenter and choose Order a host.
On the next screen, select your host and click Confirm order.

Order a datastore.
Click the more options ... button to the right of your datacenter and choose Order a datastore.
On the next screen, select your datastore type and click Confirm order.

See more details about your datacenter.
Click the name of your datacenter to open more detailed information about it, which will be explored in the section below.
In the Users tab, you can manage who has access to the vSphere client.
Create a user.
Click Create User at the top of the page.
In the pop-up window, enter a name, password, and email address for the user, and then click Next.
NOTE: Passwords must...
- Contain at least one number,
- Contain at least one letter,
- Contain lower-case letters,
- Contain upper-case letters, and
- Be a minimum of 16 characters and a maximum of 64 characters.
Select the role/rights you wish to grant to the user, and then click Next.
Verify the rights and email address for the user and click Confirm.
Edit a user.
Click the more options ... button to the right of the user and choose Edit.
Adjust the information and options for the user, and click Confirm when you are finished.

View/edit the rights for each DC.
Click the more options ... button to the right of the user and choose View/Edit the rights for each DC.
This will take you to a new page, where you will need to click the more options ... button to the right of the datacenter and choose Modify rights.
In the pop-up window, you can adjust the rights:

vSphere access: To set the global rights for a user in vSphere.
Right Description Operator reserved for OVHcloud administrators None no access Red-only read-only access Read/Write read and write access

Access to the VM Network: Concerns management rights over the public network section (a.k.a "VM Network" in the vSphere interface).
Right Description Operator allows VMs to be configured on a public network None no access Red-only read-only access

Access to the V(X)LANs: Concerns management rights over the private network section (VXLAN for Hosted Private Cloud and VLAN for SDDC).

- Host and storage management: Gives the right to add additional resources through the OVHcloud plugin in the vSphere client.
Change a user's password.
Click the more options ... button to the right of the user and choose Change password.
In the pop-up window, enter a new password, re-enter it to confirm, and click Confirm.

Delete a user.
Click the more options ... button to the right of the user and choose Delete this user.
In the pop-up window, click Confirm to begin the deletion process.
You will see a progress bar while the deletion is occurring. You can click Close when it is 100% complete.
In the Security tab, you can see your current settings for your session expiry period, number of concurrent connections, vCenter access policy, and disconnection policy, as well as the IPs and IP blocks authorized to connect to your service.
At the bottom of the page, you can also add or see your Key Management Servers. See our Enabling Virtual Machine Encryption guide for more details.
Modify session expiry period.
On the right side of the page, click Modify session expiry.
Enter the number of minutes before session expiry, or check ☑️ the box next to No session expiry, and click Next.
Verify your choices and click Confirm.
Modify the number of concurrent connections.
On the right side of the page, click Modify the number of concurrent connections.
Enter the maximum number of concurrent connections and click Next.
Verify your choices and click Confirm.
Modify the disconnection policy.
On the right side of the page, click Modify the disconnection policy.
Choose whether to disconnect the first or last user connected, and then click Confirm.
Add a new IP address range.
Please view our dedicated guide, Authorizing IP addresses for vCenter access, for more information.
Modify or delete an IP address range.
Click the more options ... button to the right of the IP block and choose either Modify the IP range or Delete the IP range.
Modifying the range will allow you to change the IP and the description.
If you choose to delete the IP, you will need to Confirm your decision in the pop-up window.
The Operations tab keeps a log of all tasks executed on your infrastructure.
You can sort the list by type, and (if the tasks are actionable) you will have options available through the more options ... button.
If your access to the vSphere client is denied, scheduled maintenance may be in progress. Check this tab first before taking further measures.
The Windows license tab shows your Windows SPLA license status.
To order a Windows license, click Activate the SPLA.
In the pop-up window, choose windows, check ☑️ the Accept the contracts box, and click Order.

Exploring the datacenter dashboard
Log in to the OVHcloud Control Panel, choose the Hosted Private Cloud section, click the Managed VMware vSphere menu, and select your PCC.
Choose your datacenter from the list, and a dashboard will show the following tabs:
- General information
- Hosts
- Datacenters
- NSX Edge Nodes (depending on your host profile)
- Backup
- Zerto
- Virtual Machines
Each of these areas and the actions that can be completed within them are explored in the menu below.
No matter which tab you are on, you can click the pencil icon at the top of the page to change the name of your datacenter.
The General information tab provides basic information about your datacenter, such as the name, range, number of hosts and datastores, and links to management interfaces.
Edit the name of or delete a datacenter.
In the General information panel, click the more options ... button to the right of Name and choose Edit or Delete the datacenter.
Edit the description of a datacenter.
In the General information panel, click the more options ... button to the right of Description and choose Edit.
Enable, resize, or add NSX Edge nodes (available depending on environment).
In the NSX Edges panel, click the more options ... button to the right of NSX Edge size and choose Enable, Resize, or Add an NSX Edge.

The Hosts tab allows you to view your existing hosts and order new ones using the Order a host button.

The Datastores tab allows you to view your existing datastores and order new ones using the Order a datastore button.
You can also use the more options ... button to the right of the datastore to Convert datastore to global.

The NSX Edge Nodes tab provides a list of your NSX Edge nodes, as well as a Add an NSX Edge button and a Resize button.

The Backup tab allows you to enable a Veeam Backup solution.
NOTE: Your Private Cloud must have an SPLA license before you can enable the backup.
Choose your solution and click Select solution.
Once the solution is activated, select a daily backup report option and click Confirm report options.

The Zerto tab allows you to build a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) plan with Zerto.
NOTE: You need to own a secondary Hosted Private Cloud solution to enable any Zerto option.

The Virtual Machines tab shows you all of the VMs in this environment.
Clicking the more options ... button to the right of a machine will give you an Activate license option.
If the license is already active, this menu will have a Delete license option.
