How to Authorize IP Addresses for vCenter Access

Access to your vCenter environment can be restricted by allowing only certain IP addresses or ranges to connect to it. In this article, we will cover how to authorize IP addresses for vCenter access in the OVHcloud Manager.

Authorizing IP Addresses for vCenter Access

If you have set the vCenter access policy to "Restricted", you need to add the IP addresses that will be allowed to connect to the service.

In your OVHcloud Control Panel:

1. Click Bare Metal Cloud at the top of the page.
2. Select your service under Managed Bare Metal on the left-hand sidebar.
3. Navigate to the Security tab and
4. Click Add a new IP address range.

In the new window, enter an IP address range that should be allowed access to vCenter. You can also add a description to make the organization of the whitelist easier. Then click Next.

Once you have confirmed the information is correct, click Confirm to apply your changes. Connections from this IP address range will now be possible.
