Object Storage - Creating a Bucket

Learn how to create a bucket, or container.

  • If you are interested in the Standard object storage - SWIFT API storage class, please follow this guide.
  • If you are interested in the Cloud Archive - SWIFT API storage class, please follow this guide.

 

Requirements

NOTE: The term "container," used throughout the OVHcloud Control Panel, means the same as "bucket."

 

Instructions

Using the Control Panel

From the OVHcloud Control Panel:

  1. Select Public Cloud from the top navigation bar.
  2. Choose Object Storage from the left-hand menu.
  3. Click + Create an object container.

Select a storage class and click Next.

Select a region and click Next.

Next, Link a user to the container and click Next.

If you don't have an existing S3 user to add, you can + Create User.

NOTE: Clicking the View credentials button will display all user credentials.

Name your container, following the character limitation guidelines, and click Create the container.

Congratulations! Your container is now created.

 

Where to find the Endpoint URL of a container

To view the details and content of a container, you can:

  1. Click the name of the container, or
  2. Click the more options ... button and select Display objects.

The endpoint URL and the contents of the container will be displayed.
